Triglav north face in winter is a completely different experience than climbing it in summer conditions. The face can be filled with so much snow that is hardly recognized. Also the road can be closed quite far away so we might have to make a long approach to the starting point of the summer option. All that usually guarantees no crowds. If you have done something similar but on a smaller scale you should find this trip very intriguing.
The climb includes steep snow slopes, exposed traverse and some mixed pitches up to grade M3, which are connected with some trailbreaking on lower angle snow terrain.
After the top of the wall we have a few options for descending. We can also include climbing the top of Triglav – that is guided usually with staying at the winter room of Kredarica hut.
The trip can also be done with skis in a skimountaineering style.
Day 1:
Pick up from your accommodation and we arrange the logistics of the desired descend option. Drive towards Vrata valley and hike towards the winter room where we stay overnight. 9,5 km and 350 vertical gain.
Day 2:
In the morning we start towards the route. Getting ready to put on the winter mountaineering gear. After that we climb the face and stop somewhere for snacks on the way. After we reach the top we either descend down to the valley or climb to the Top of Triglav. 14 km and 1650 vertical meters.
Like with all other tours the weather and conditions can be dangerous and do not allow us to finish the tour as planned. In this case Plan B will be proposed. If Plan B is not accepted by the client we take half of the booking fee.
