Slovenia is not very well known for its ski touring – mainly because the tours are long or tough. Lower elevation mountains are in this time of global warming also being more affected. In this case we have options that are higher up. And one of them is Mala Mojstrovka, which is the closest mountain from Kranjska Gora.
After checking all the gear and briefing on the conditions that we will have in the following week we will drive towards Vršič Pass. After that we will climb up one of the gullies leading to the top of Mala Mojstrovka. And after reaching the summit and taking in our surroundings we will ski down towards Vršič pass. The last part usually involves some bushwacking and carrying skis back to the car.
Like with all other tours the weather and conditions can be dangerous and do not allow us to finish the tour as planned. In this case Plan B will be proposed. If Plan B is not accepted by the client we take half of the booking fee.
