Kotovo Sedlo is a point in the ridge between the mighty Jalovec (2,645 m) and Kotova Špica in Slovenia’s Triglav National Park.
The tour is one of the longest and also very diverse. Going through the forest, passing a mountain hut and later climbing steeper and steeper under the couloir where the 2 options separate.
To the right we follow towards the views of Mangrt and towards the top fo Jalovec we climb the gully that is at its steepest around 45° and on average about 37°.
After checking all the gear and briefing on the conditions we start from the Tamar Valley parking lot.
Ski tour begins with a gentle approach through the forest and up the valley towards Dom v Tamarju.
After we follow the valley, gradually climbing steeper terrain towards the gully and depending on the chosen tour we either climb the couloir or turn to the right and follow the slopes to Kotovo Sedlo.
At the top we enjoy the stunning views before descending down the slopes back into Tamar Valley.
Optional Extension: Jalovec Couloir (2,645 m)
A steep bootpack (crampons) leads us to the top of the couloir. After we make descent that is steepest and narrowest at the top pic, reconnecting with the lower slopes towards Tamar.
Like with all other tours the weather and conditions can be dangerous and do not allow us to finish the tour as planned. In this case Plan B will be proposed. If Plan B is not accepted by the client we take half of the booking fee.
