The Zelenica ridge, rising above the Zelenica hut, offers a unique mountain experience for those seeking breathtaking views and technically interesting routes. This rugged ridge, stretching between Spodnji plot and Palec, is a popular choice among mountaineers and alpinists, as it combines exposed passages, sharp ridgeline traverses, and the raw beauty of the alpine world.
The ridge is accessed by a marked trail from Ljubelj for about 1,5h. The ridgeline traverse is varied, with some exposed sections and a climbing difficulty of around UIAA II both up and down. There are also two sections where abseiling is required, adding an extra level of technical challenge. In certain conditions – when ice and snow can cover the ridge, winter climbing equipment is needed.
Like with all other tours the weather and conditions can be dangerous and do not allow us to finish the tour as planned. In this case Plan B will be proposed. Usually that is climbing a Via Ferrata in the valley. If Plan B is not accepted by the client we take the full amount of the booking fee.
